An improved type of pressure cooker with more advanced features and improved safety than the old pressure cookers were the Second Generation Pressure Cookers, also known as Stove-tops. The spring valve replaces the weight-bearing valves. They use indicators to determine the pressure levels inside the pot. Also, they do not release the steam until the lid is open.

  1. Third Generation Pressure Cooker:

The most advanced and newest pressure cooker is an electric pressure cooker, also known as a third-generation pressure cooker. They operate with electricity. They do not need natural gas to work. The electric pressure cooker has multiple functions and features, including timer setting and dual pressure settings. Some electric cookers are multifunctional, which includes; pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, sous vide, and stockpot warmer.

Different Types of Pressure Cookers-by material:

There are two types of pressure cookers based on content.

  1. Aluminum pressure cooker
  2. Stainless steel pressure cooker

Aluminum Pressure Cooker: They are readily available in the market as they are less expensive. However, they are not sturdy. Since a cooker has to handle extreme handle, aluminum cookers are never a good idea. They are easily affected by the heat.

Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker: They are sturdy material. They can withstand extreme heat and rough handling.
